Fireware OS Pre-Authentication Out-of-Bounds Read in iked Allows Denial of Service (DoS)
Summary #
An out-of-bounds read vulnerability in the WatchGuard Fireware OS iked process allows a remote unauthenticated attacker to create a Denial of Service (DoS) condition in VPN processing by sending specially crafted network traffic.
Impact: A remote unauthenticated attacker can crash the iked process by sending a malformed IKEv2 message, causing the daemon to terminate on a segmentation fault and respawn, resulting in a denial-of-service condition for IPSec VPN services (Mobile User VPN and Branch Office VPN using IKEv2).
